CREATIVITY

CAS is not about fulfilling a requirement, it's about growing as a person. 

 

Anything that involves creative thought or action can be included. You can complete a variety of small creative adventures, but you must develop one larger CAS project within your 18 months of participation.

 

Please don't use any project that you are completing for a Walden class. You are free to use creative taskes you are involved with in a club or as a part of an extracurricular enterprise—such as a dance team or ceramics class, but you must be stretching yourself beyond what you already know and can do.

 

 

Ideas for creative projects

 

  • Create and perform a dance

  • Publish a book or create prints of your best photography

  • Write and edit a short film

  • Design an awareness campaign for any issue you care about

  • Learn a new instrument and perform

  • Design & create a quilt

  • Write a small book of poetry

  • Plan and perform a musical program at a local retirement home

  • Design & paint a mural

  • Help create the school yearbook

  • Teach anything that involves creativity

  • Take a ceramics class

  • Create and maintain a blog about anyting

  • Program a learning game

  • Start a school robotics or submarine team

  • Help remodel your home

  • Learn to ski, waterski, snowboard, swim...

  • Create an environmental awareness activity for younger students

  • Grow a garden

  • Invent something

  • Write a novel
