Walden School can help students earn high school credit with credit recovery and credit acceleration through online and off-campus opportunities outside of the regular school day. Any course costs are the responsibility of the student, though some courses are offered at no cost.

Walden Online:

Walden Online provides limited class options to students. All course material is designed and administered by our certified faculty to give students the same instruction they would receive in the classroom.  Students can communicate with teachers via Google Classroom and receive prompt responses to questions and assignments. Walden Online is an extension of the classroom – allowing students the ability to work at their own pace, graduate early, catch up or a combination of all three. Walden Online classes are $100 per

(.50 credit) semester. For more information about this option, please contact your counselor

BYU Independent Study:

BYU recognizes that each student has unique circumstances and different learning needs. That’s why they now offer three types of online courses to help students succeed. Complementary to their traditional Paper/Online courses, are the NEW Online and NEW Instructor-Guided courses. High school Paper/Online courses are $142 per 0.50 credit , NEW Online courses are $132 per 0.50 credit, and the NEW Instructor-Guided courses are $232 per 0.50 credit. You can visit their website and view course offerings here.

Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP):

Utah legislation affords eligible students in ninth through twelfth with the option to take up to two high school credits a year of online education as part of their regular schedule.  Online courses combined with regular classes may not exceed the number of courses taken during a regular school day. You can get more information about this option here.

To begin this process a Course Credit Acknowledgement (CCA) form must be prepared by your counselor or the online provider and submitted to the Utah State Office of Education. To get this process started, contact your counselor.

Independence High School:

Independence High School is available to students as a means of credit recovery or for completing courses off campus through paper packets. This method of credit completion REQUIRES a referral through your school counselor. For more information, you can check out their website. When you are ready for a course referral, please contact your counselor
